I didn't operate from the tower yesterday. The take-off is a bit better from there, but it's too much job. I don't want to work my ass off to go portable. It takes the fun out of it. The QTH I've been operating from in the latests tests, are a few hundred meters further south. It's about 100m lower in terrain compared to the wooden tower. By doing this, I get a much worse take-off to the north. That's why I was too weak for LA8G (jp53) to copy me yesterday :-( Conditions yesterday were very good. I noticed this quickly when checking repeaters. Also DL0PR and OZ4UHF beacons were heard. Nice with several OH's in the log. OH1XT was well over s9. Also glad to work ES on tropo for the first time. Signals from many SM stations were very strong this evening. Too bad no DL's got into the log. OZ3RET repeater, and a whole bunch of SM repeaters, and too many LA repeaters were also heard when checking conditions after the test yesterday. Also seems like I were the only one qrv from JP50 this time. I almost missed my own square until a friend called me. Then I suddenly realized I needed JP50 myself. I will probably be qrv in october as well. Remember to turn your antennas towards me :-) For test reports and info about my portable operation, go to http://www.qsl.net/la8aja -- Best regards, Andreas mailto:la8aja@qsl.net
