Hello, my oh my what a day. After getting out of
bed earlier this morning I realized that the rainfall was far to heavy to
allow a bi-cycle ride to the club. Instead, I had to hurry to catch the bus, no
time for breakfast. Nevermind. When arriving at SL0ZS I found out that the mains
had gone, after about 15 telephonecalls I still hadn´t got in touch with the
responsible company. What to do? I dug out a carbattery and connected it to
a IC-706 and behold: SK6QW was worked with 20W and the antenna stuck in 270
deg. Managed 2 local QSOs as well before the mains returned 40 minutes into the
contest.
Now it all started... The PA didn´t run as it uses
to, the pre-amp decided to quit, the Internet-connection was down (no
cluster) and if this wasn´t enough, the logging-PC broke down halfway through
the contest and a few QSOs were lost.
It seemed that most of the VHF-fraternity was
coping from the meeting in OZ; activity was low - even from SM1. Only
four (4) SM1-stations found their way into my log.
Despite all above, the result were about as it uses
to be from us.
I will leave for SM1 this evening so CU from SK1BL
(JO96/JO97) in the coming NACs. Will be back in Stockholm in mid-August.
SL0ZS will be with you as usual during the
summer!!!
Oh yes, and Sweden lost to 6W in
football.
